Dr. Alexander Gumbs DNP

Dr. Alexander Ivan Gumbs DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is more than just a highly qualified healthcare provider—he is a steadfast ally in the journey toward mental wellness. Recently earning his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chatham University, Dr. Gumbs exemplifies an unwavering commitment to advancing mental health care. He has dedicated his life to aiding individuals in navigating the complex landscape of clinical mental health challenges. Driven by empathy and understanding, he brings an approachable and compassionate demeanor to his practice, making him a trusted partner for those grappling with mental health issues.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Gumbs has honed his skills and cultivated a multicultural perspective that enables him to connect with a diverse array of patients. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in nursing from SUNY Downstate, specialized in Psychiatry at Molloy University, and recently culminated his academic journey with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Chatham University.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Gumbs is shaping the future of healthcare as a Professor at Molloy University, where he teaches “Practicum in Primary Care III” to aspiring healthcare professionals. Whether in the role of healthcare provider, educator, or mentor, Dr. Gumbs exemplifies his belief that “We are all in this together.” His philosophy serves as a reminder of the power of unity, understanding, and evidence-based care in overcoming life’s challenges.

Lauren Simoniello

Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Lauren Simoniello is a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) committed to helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. With extensive experience in psychiatric care, Lauren specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, postpartum depression/anxiety and eating disorders.  

Lauren takes a holistic and patient-centered approach, integrating evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of each individual’s unique needs and goals. She is skilled in psychopharmacology, therapeutic communication, and supportive counseling, ensuring that her patients feel heard and empowered throughout their treatment.  

Lauren earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health from Molloy University and has worked in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and residential facilities. Her dedication to mental health extends beyond clinical practice she is passionate about mental health advocacy and reducing stigma in her community.  

When not working, Lauren enjoys reading, walking her dog, and spending time with her family, which help her maintain balance and a sense of well-being.  Lauren is currently accepting new patients and looks forward to partnering with you on your journey toward mental health and wellness.

Jennifer McIntosh

Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Understanding that seeking care can be a significant step, my goal is to create a safe, trusting environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. I am Jennifer McIntosh, a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner licensed in New York and Connecticut, and I am here to support you on your journey to mental well-being.

With more than 18 years of nursing experience, including clinical leadership roles, I have had the privilege of caring for individuals in emergency departments and inpatient behavioral health settings. My academic path includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the New York Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Healthcare Systems Management from Loyola University, and both a Master of Science as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Adelphi University.

I am also committed to nursing education. I have served as a faculty member for nursing programs in New York and Connecticut. My scholarly work, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences, reflects my dedication to advancing mental health care practices and outcomes.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in trauma-informed and humanistic principles. I believe in partnering with individuals throughout their healing process, fostering trust, and creating a safe, compassionate space for care.

Outside of my professional role, I find joy in observing and learning about birds, a hobby and passion that brings me peace and connection to nature. In addition to English, I am fluent in Haitian Creole and French. This allows me to support individuals from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Marie Fils-Aime

Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Marie Fils-Aime is board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed a postmaster’s certificate in Mental Health and plans on working as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. 

She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Stony Brook. She has experience as an FNP in primary care, pain management, trigger point therapy, weight loss, long term care, palliative, and hospice. She worked as a Registered Nurse in numerous hospital areas including Emergency room, neurology intensive care, and stroke unit. 

Marie is passionate about teaching and utilizing a preventative, wholistic approach with her patients.

She is also fluent in speaking English, Spanish, French, and Haitien Creole.
